The Hawai’i Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) would cordially like to invite you to join us for a conversation with David Donaldson, the lead author on the approved application by the U.S. Department of Labor to federally recognize the “K-12 teacher” and “K-12 principal” occupation as eligible for registered apprenticeship. He also has a growing network that consists of states from around the country that meet to discuss the design and implementation of registered apprenticeships in teaching to address educator shortages. This national network meets via his National Center for Grow Your Own.
HTSB is currently working with the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DLIR) in our state, along with many other educational stakeholders to stand up a statewide Registered Teacher Apprenticeship program in Hawai’i. We are lucky to have David Donaldson fill us in on how it is going nationally!
