You are an accomplished teacher; you have earned National Board Certification. Have you added ” ,NBCT” or your NBCT badge to your signature on your email and social media accounts?
If not, please do! It is an important tool to bring awareness to National Board Certification. This is not just for you, but for our profession!
National Board has made available a digital badge that accomplished teachers can use to tell the world that they’re an NBCT. We are proud of your accomplishment and hope you will share your success with others.
This week all new and renewed/maintained NBCTs will get an email from Credly – our vendor- with a link to get started. They’ll provide a link to create an account on Credly’s platform, where the digital badge can be accepted and managed. Be sure to visit the Help Page if you have questions.
If you do not receive an email from admin@credly.com by the end of this week, please contact us at NationalBoard@nbpts.org.
Add yours today as part of Team NBCT week! (Click here for a step-by-step how-to video.)

Aloha Hawaii NBCTs,
December is an exciting month! We have the upcoming end of the semester and the holiday season. For NBCTs and Candidates, it’s also the month when scores are released and we get to welcome a new class of NBCTs into our circle of accomplished educators.
Score Release 2022 is this Saturday, December 10!
Please check Social Media and help us celebrate Hawaiiʻs newest and maintained NBCTs! As part of the celebration this Saturday, the National Board will be hosting an informal virtual gathering on December 10 at 1:00 PM ET (8:00 AM Hawaii time) when we’ll hear from Peggy Brookins, National Board President and CEO, and Carol Bauer, vice chair of the Board of Directors. We’ll also have a chance to contact newly certified NBCTs and help them celebrate via phone or social media. If you’re interested you can register for the virtual score release celebration on Saturday, December 10, at 8:00 AM HST.
UPCOMING EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR HAWAII NBCTs
Thank you all for your commitment to our profession and education in Hawaii. I am honored to do this work with all of you.
Are you a Hawaii NBCT currently working in a Hawaii School? Teacher Education programs in Hawaii have asked about YOU! Hawaiiʻs State Approved Teacher Education Programs (SATEPs) want to connect their candidates with Hawaii NBCTs for observation and student teacher placements. They recognize the expertise that NBCTs bring to the classroom.
Hawaiiʻs future teachers deserve mentors who are committed to their students, content knowledge experts, members of learning communities, responsible managers of student learning and reflective practitioners who strive to improve practice. With the honor and kuleana to grow emerging professionals, we invite all Hawaii NBCTs to consider this opportunity to inspire and be inspired by Hawaiiʻs future teachers.
All verified responses will be sent a surprise Hawaii NBCTs network logo item as a thank you.

The Hawaii State Department of Education’s Leadership Institute is excited to help increase opportunities for teachers to network, collaborate, learn, and lead. Going through the National Board process is a leadership journey, so all Hawaii NBCTs are invited to complete **this 30 second form** by Friday, September 23 to strengthen teacher leadership spaces across our schools, our state, and throughout complex areas.
Completing the form does not commit you to anything and simply ensures that you receive updates as we expand teacher leadership embodying neʻepapa, moving forward together.
If you have already received to the email from Kristi Oda, NBCT and connected to Hawaii’s teacher leadership network, there is no need to reply again.
